BEIRUT: Israeli airstrikes intensified in southern Lebanon on Tuesday, targeting multiple regions including Nabatieh, Tyre, and the surrounding areas, marking a significant escalation in regional tensions. The attacks resulted in extensive damage to infrastructure and left civilians trapped under debris. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the airstrikes commenced around 1:30 pm with a drone strike on the Choukine-Nabatieh road. Subsequent attacks by warplanes targeted residential areas, including houses in Shamaa and Aitit, while the old neighborhood of Maaroub experienced an air raid. In Al-Kharayeb, a drone hit a store, although no injuries were reported. Israeli jets further devastated the area by destroying a house in Yohmor, and artillery shelling was reported near the Litani River at Al-Khardali. Additionally, enemy drones maintained a presence over Nabatieh and Iqlim al-Tuffah throughout the day, contributing to the heightened tension and fear among residents. The western entrance of Nabat ieh, particularly the Ksar Zaatar neighborhood, faced heavy bombardment, resulting in the leveling of residential and commercial complexes. Rescue operations are ongoing, as several individuals remain trapped under the rubble. In the Tyre region, a series of airstrikes targeted Al-Housh, located east of the city, exacerbating the humanitarian situation on the ground.
