Israeli authorities issue notices of demolition against houses in Jerusalem

Israeli occupation authorities Thursday issued notices of the demolition of nine Palestinian-owned homes in al-Bustan neighborhood, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied city of Jerusalem. Local sources in the neighborhood said that the occupation municipality crews in Jerusalem stormed the said neighborhood, accompanied by occupation forces, and hanged demolition notices on nine homes, and summons to the notified homes’ owners, to appear before the so-called ‘Building Control Department’ in the municipality. Fakhri Abu Diab, researcher and specialist in Jerusalem affairs, said that the occupation forces are re-distributing demolition orders in the neighborhood to the families of Abu Diab, Abu Rajab, Qaraeen, Abu Shafea, and Ayed, warning of their intention to push the owners of the notified houses to admit building without a permit, in order to make it easier for the demolition process to happen without going to court. It is noteworthy that al-Bustan neighborhood is threatened with demolition completely by the occupation municipality in Jerusalem, noting it includes 116 homes, and approximately 1,500 people live in it.
