JERICHO: he Israeli occupation forces today demolished two Palestinian-owned houses and walls in the al-Matar area, east of the city of Jericho.
Sources said that Israeli forces, accompanied by four military bulldozers, raided al-Matar area and demolished two houses and walls of houses belonging to local Palestinian residents.
The occupation forces are still present in the area until now, sources added.
The occupation authorities carried out dozens of demolition operations and issued demolition and stop construction notices against multiple Palestinian-owned homes in the said area, under the pretext that the area is classified Area C.
Israel demolishes Palestinian houses and structures almost on a daily basis as a means to achieve ‘demographic control’ of the occupied territories.
