RAMALLAH: Israeli occupation forces arrested at least 16 Palestinians from the occupied West Bank, including a child, last night and today, according to the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority and the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

The two organizations said in a joint statement that the arrests took place in the governorates of Hebron, Ramallah, Bethlehem, Tulkarm, and Jerusalem. They said the arrests were accompanied by widespread acts of abuse, brutal beatings, threats against the detainees and their families, as well as extensive acts of vandalism and destruction in the homes of citizens.

The statement noted that the tally of Palestinians arrested by Israeli forces since October 7th last year has risen to more than 7,755 detainees. These include individuals arrested from their homes, at military checkpoints, those who surrendered themselves under pressure, and those taken as hostages.
