Ramallah: Israeli occupation forces overnight and Tuesday detained at least 25 Palestinians from the West Bank, including a child and former prisoners.

The Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society explained that the arrests took place in the governorates of Qalqilya, Hebron, Jenin, as well as Bethlehem and Jerusalem.

Moreover, the occupation forces continue to carry out widespread raids and torture, severe beatings, and threats against detainees and their families, in addition to widespread sabotage and destruction of citizens’ homes.

The Commission and the PPS added that the total number of arrests after the aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7 last year amounted to more than 8,270, including those who were arrested from homes, through military checkpoints, those who were forced to surrender themselves under pressure, and those who were held hostage.

They pointed out that these arrest campaigns constitute the most prominent, consistent and systematic pol
icies used by the occupation forces, adding that they are also one of the most prominent tools of the ‘collective punishment’ policy, which also constitutes a central tool for the occupation forces in targeting citizens, in light of the comprehensive aggression against Palestinian people and the ongoing genocide in Gaza after October 7th.

It is noteworthy that the data related to arrest cases includes those who were kept in detention by the ooccupation authorities and those who were later released.
