JERUSALEM: Israeli occupation forces attacked hundreds of worshipers at Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem following the dawn prayer today, launching tear gas canisters and arresting at least five of them, according to local sources.

Thousands of worshipers at the holy compound had assembled following the dawn prayer and chanted slogans condemning the Israeli aggression on Gaza. Subsequently, the occupation forces assaulted them, including by using a drone loaded with teargas bombs to attack them.

After the dawn prayer, Israeli forces arrested at least five young worshippers, whose identities were not known, as they exited the holy site.

According to the Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem, more than 65,000 worshipers performed the last Friday dawn prayer of Ramadan within the compound of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
