JENIN: Israeli occupation forces tonight placed cement blocks at the Ya’bad- Kufeirit Junction, southwest of Jenin, separating the area from its surroundings and hampering residents ‘ movement.

The junction represents the main entrance and links the towns and villages of Jenin Governorate with Ya’bad and villages and communities southwest of Ya’bad.

The mayor of Yabad, Amjad Atatreh, told WAFA that forces placed cement blocks on the said junction between the town of Ya’bad and a cluster of 13 villages and locales, including the village of Kufeirit, which links Jenin Governorate with Tulkarm, Barta’a, Qafin, and with many neighboring towns and communities and surrounding agricultural lands in the region.

The “Dotan” military checkpoint in the town of Ya’bad has been closed by the Israeli army since the start of the aggression against the Gaza Strip on the 7th of October, in addition to the closure of the western gate leading to the town and its villages, which separated the area from its surroundings and ha
mpered residents ‘movement.

He stressed that these Israeli measures are aimed at separating the areas, besieging villages and towns, turning them into prisons, as well as impeding the movement of citizens and tightening restrictions against them, which he slammed as part of the collective punishment policy pursued by the occupation against the Palestinian people.
