Israeli police officers suppressed scores of activists tonight as they demonstrated in Haifa in the 1948-occupied territories in solidarity with Palestinians facing almost daily Israeli brutality in the occupied West Bank, especially in the Jenin and Nablus provinces. The activists were also demonstrating in support of the Druze Arabs of the occupied Golan Heights who have been demonstrating against Israel’s construction of wind turbines on their lands. The demonstrators raised banners, some of which read: “Jenin, Nablus and the Golan Heights… Let the settlements fall,” and ‘From Golan to Jenin, one people who will not be defeated’.
