A group of Israeli settlers blocked Palestinian Bedouin herders from reaching grazing lands today east of Atuf village, south of the town of Tubas in the northern West Bank, according to local sources. Ayman Ghareeb, a local Palestinian activist, reported that a group of Israeli settlers prevented shepherds from accessing the grazing lands in the vicinity of their tents where they could feed their sheep. He pointed out that the settlers roamed near the tents of the local Palestinian Bedouin families and threatened them with burning their tents. Palestinian communities often report cases of harassment, assaults, and property damage attributed to Israeli settler groups, with protection and political cover for assailants from the far-right Israeli government and complicit Israeli forces. International organizations and human rights groups have often criticized Israeli settler violence in the West Bank, stating that it contributes to instability in the region.
