Ivorian Ambassador discusses with ERC Chairman leveraging humanitarian, development initiatives in his country

ABU DHABI: Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), met with Vacaba Diaby, Ambassador of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire to the UAE, at the ERC HQ today, to discuss the humanitarian situation in the West African country.

Ambassador Diaby expressed his country’s desire to collaborate with the ERC in bolstering humanitarian and development efforts across his country, particularly within the health and education sectors. He further expressed keen interest in leveraging the ERC’s innovative “Preservation of Grace” initiative, aiming to adapt and implement it within Côte d’Ivoire.

Dr. Hamdan Al Mazrouei stressed during the meeting that the UAE has always been and will continue to be a supporter of its fraternal and friendly countries everywhere. “This commitment to global support,” he continued, ‘stems from a constant and inherent approach deeply ingrained in the hearts of the Emirati people. A tradition that finds its roots in the legacy of the late f
ounding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and continues to be championed by the initiatives and unwavering support of our wise leadership.’

Dr. Al Mazrouei added that the ERC always strives to be a supporter of all peoples, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or beliefs. He noted that this is a fundamental principle of the ERC under the chairmanship of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, Chairman of ERC.

Dr. Al Mazrouei also highlighted H.H. Sheikh Hamdan’s keen interest in and follow-up of the humanitarian situation in Africa. He in this regard highlighted Sheikh Hamdan’s ongoing directives to exert more efforts to enhance the ERC’s humanitarian response and support the peoples facing challenging humanitarian conditions.

He emphasised that the meeting with Ambassador Diaby will strengthen the ERC’s initiatives for the benefit of the Ivorian people and enhance cooperation and coordination in humanitarian and development fields in the future.

s part, Ambassador Diaby affirmed the importance of the developmental and humanitarian role of the ERC in Africa. He pointed out the vitality of the programmes and initiatives implemented by the ERC to alleviate the suffering of peoples around the world.

He said that the ERC’s field initiatives and permanent presence in areas of crisis and disaster, especially in Africa, have established it as a beacon of hope in the fields of giving and caring for humanity around the world.”
