JAF: Drug-smuggling drone shot down on Syria border

Eastern Military Zone troops Monday noon shot down a drug-smuggling drone from Syria, the Jordan Armed forces- Arab Army (JAF) said. “Border Guard forces, in coordination with the military security services and the Anti-Narcotics Department, tracked a drone trying to illegally cross the border from Syria into Jordan, and it was shot down inside Jordanian territory,” said an official military source at the JAF General Command. The drone was found to have carried 2 kilograms of the crystal drug, which was sent to the competent authorities, it said. The source vowed that JAF will deal with full force and firmness with any threat to the Kingdom’s borders, or any attempt to undermine its security or intimidate its people.
