Amman: During its meeting with the trade attaché at Chinese embassy in Amman, Zhang Xiao, Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) discussed ways to enhance joint trade, investment and economic relations and enhance prospects for joint cooperation between the two business communities.

During the meeting, JBA’s Director General, Tariq Hijazi, stressed importance of developing Jordanian-Chinese relations, noting the association’s keenness to unify economic and social visions and enhance Jordan-China “participatory” role.

Hijazi called for the necessity of facilitating joint investment opportunities, as Jordan enjoys “high” investment privileges, and provides an “attractive” area for investments and opportunities for Chinese investors in the Kingdom.

Meanwhile, the attaché stressed his country’s readiness to enhance cooperation in the mutual economic and investment fields and provide the necessary support to achieve success of joint projects.

The diplomat also noted that joint economic and trade relations dev
eloped “steadily” in recent years, adding that practical cooperation in various fields achieved “constructive” outcomes, as China is Jordan’s third largest trading partner.

Additionally, he stressed role of the Chinese embassy in providing support for joint economic projects in various sectors, expressing the Chinese side’s interest in investing in Jordan’s various development sectors and enhancing trade exchange and flow of mutual investments.
