JCC seeks to strengthen economic relations with Trkiye-Rifai

First Vice Chairman of Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Jamal Rifai, on Wednesday discussed with Commercial Counselor at Turkish Embassy in Amman, Mohammad Oral, ways to enhance joint economic and trade relations. According to a JCC statement, Rifai and the chamber’s members welcomed any joint cooperation aimed at increasing trade exchange, building partnerships and investment projects between the two sides, and establishing strategic relations. They also stressed “depth” of the Jordanian-Turkish relations, which are based on historical, cultural and geographical foundations. Rifai noted Jordanian-Turkish relations require joint action to achieve “complementary” achievements in multiple fields, expressing JCC’s desire to cooperate and coordinate with the Turkish Commercial Attaché, in arranging a visit of a Turkish trade delegation to Jordan, next September, and holding a joint Jordanian-Turkish business forum. He noted this future visit will constitute a “true” opportunity to exchange joint trade and investment opportunities, which would increase volume of bilateral trade that is “still below the level of ambitions.” For his part, the Turkish official stressed importance of developing joint economic and trade relations, adding that visit of the Turkish delegation to Jordan will constitute “key and essential” step on the road to building “true” joint cooperation and friendship bridges. He stressed need to focus on key commercial sectors of common interest that serve the two countries’ economies.
