“Behematikom- With Your Diligence” program to support youth projects, which was implemented by the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO), in partnership with the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD), completed its activities by providing technical and financial assistance to 49 pilot projects. A total of 43 enterprises were concluded and 6 others are currently being followed up to be implemented in various governorates. According to a JEDCO statement on Wednesday, the program successfully provided 258 permanent and temporary direct job opportunities, in addition to developing the productive and operational capabilities of these entrepreneurial projects’ owners. Projects covered various sectors, as assistance was provided for 10, 13 , 16 , and 4 industrial, agricultural, service and craft projects, respectively, the statement said. Additionally, JEDCO noted the program targeted youth entrepreneurial projects, to encourage their entrepreneurship spirit by providing technical and financial support to help launch their economic projects to ensure self-employment. JEDCO added that this effort aims to achieve a sustainable revenue that contributes to achieving national goals and creating new opportunities in the business environment and enhancing its competitiveness in the local market. On its goals, JEDCO said the program provided financial support to youth projects in the form of financial grants for each project, as its owner contributes 10% of its total value to ensure its sustainability. A total of 2,070 applications were submitted from all governorates, of which 126 projects qualified for the presentation ahead of picking the winning projects by a specialized technical committee, JEDCO pointed out. The program aims to build youth capabilities in outlining necessary business plans to transform their ideas into economic projects, support their implementation and encourage their self-employment projects. In partnership with KAFD last year, JEDCO launched this program and value of financial support nearly stood at JD250, 000 so far.
