Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi-headquartered Jordanian-Emirati Women Business Council (JEWBC) announced appointment of Her Highness Sheikha Salama bint Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan as its honorary president.

This announcement came during the council’s meeting held in Abu Dhabi, in presence of Sheikha Salama bint Tahnoun, and all members of Board of Directors.

During the meeting, Her Highness said: “This council and this true partnership among the two sides’ businesswomen comes within the true belief in the importance of increasing bridges of communication and networking and supporting opportunities for expertise transfer.”

Sheikha Salama also wished the council further successes in serving Arab women, their development and their economic empowerment.

Meanwhile, Board of Directors’ members expressed their sincere happiness with this announcement, stressing that Her Highness’s acceptance of this honorary position truly supports the council to maximize economic, developmental and cultural opportunities between t
he two countries’ businesswomen.

Established on September 9, the council follows the same statute as the Jordanian-Emirati Businessmen Council, and operates under the umbrella of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and enjoys its support.
