Amman: The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) has released new guidelines for travelers carrying personal medicines, emphasizing the importance of understanding and complying with regulations in neighboring countries to avoid legal issues. According to Jordan News Agency, the JFDA's statement advises travelers heading to Saudi Arabia-whether for residence, Hajj, Umrah, visits, or transit-to review the list of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances available on their website. This measure is essential to prevent complications arising from carrying banned medications into the country. The JFDA has urged travelers to seek prior approval from competent authorities if their medication is listed. Additionally, travelers must carry a prescription from their treating physician and a medical report certified by the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Saudi Embassy. For any questions or further assistance, travelers are encouraged to contact the JFDA's Drugs, Psychotropic Substance s, and Chemical Precursors department via telephone at 5632000.
