JICA, Amman Chamber of Industry hold ‘Jordan Wellness Workshop’

Amman: Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Tuesday held the “Jordan Wellness Workshop” at Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) as part of its “Wellness Cluster Project,” inviting Dead Sea product manufacturers and inbound tour operators.

The workshop introduced participants to successful cases of wellness products associated with wellness destinations such as Morocco and Japan.

In Morocco, participants learned about their experience with Argan Oil as the theme of the case study/wellness story.

They learned about Japan’s experience with the wellness industry through Hot Springs and how products, visits, tours and services centred on the Hot Spring theme.

The workshop included speeches by officials from ACI, Ma’in Hot Springs, the Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA) and universities.

Participating Dead Sea products companies and tour operators were engaged in an interactive group session to explore the values of Jordan as a wellness destination from the perspective of local Jordanians vs
foreign visitors.

Participants pitched in ideas for Jordan’s tangible and intangible assets, which can be used to promote Jordan as a destination for wellness tourism and advertise the Kingdom’s Dead Sea products in targeted Asian markets.
