Amman, Jordan – Minister of Government Communications, Muhannad Mubaideen, expressed strong condemnation of the Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon, which resulted in the deaths of two journalists.
According to Jordan News Agency, who also serves as the government spokesperson, the attack on Tuesday claimed the lives of Farah Omar and Rabih Maamari, a correspondent and a cameraman from the Beirut-based TV station Al-Mayadeen, while they were reporting in the region.
Mubaideen extended his condolences and sympathies to the families of Omar and Maamari, as well as to the Al-Mayadeen TV station and the broader Arab media community, on behalf of the Jordanian media family. He prayed for divine mercy for the deceased. Additionally, the minister denounced the ongoing Israeli actions against Palestinian journalists in the Gaza Strip, highlighting that since the start of the Israeli offensive, 62 journalists have lost their lives. Mubaideen praised the professionalism and resilience of journalists in Gaza, who have continued to report on the Israeli offenses under challenging conditions, including targeting, mobility constraints, and continuous aerial and ground bombardment.
