Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply and Minister of Labor Youssef Shamali opened Tuesday evening the Jordan International Food Exhibition “Jordan Food”. The sixth edition of the expo, Jordan’s largest food fair, is organized by the International Promotors Company (IPCO). Featuring 100 top enterprises exhibiting from both local and foreign markets, the expo is being held on an area of 11,000 square meters at Mecca Mall’s Jordan Center for International Exhibitions. President of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, Fathi Jaghbir, emphasized the importance of the Jordan Food in promoting national products and highlight their high quality, which enhances the Jordanian consumer’s confidence in the national industry, especially food. The event allows Jordanian, Arab and foreign citizens to learn about the latest developments in the Jordanian food industry and its ability to compete with foreign food industries in terms of specifications, quality and appropriate prices, said the General Manager of IPCO, Raed Abu Saada. He added that the exhibition will continue for 5 days and open from 2pm until 9pm. It will include various activities, including cooking food by 10 of the most skilled chefs locally and internationally, food tasting, distribution of gifts and prizes, in addition to many entertainment activities.

Foreign Ministry confirms death of two Jordanian citizens in Turkey

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Tuesday confirmed the death of the two Jordanian citizens, who went missing after the earthquake that hit the Turkish city of Antakya in early February. The ministry’s spokesperson, Ambassador Sinan Majali, said that relevant Turkish authorities had informed the Jordanian embassy in Ankara of the results of the DNA test, which confirmed the identity of the two Jordanian citizens. Majali expressed his deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the families of the deceased.
