Amman – The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is conducting an evacuation operation for its nationals from the conflict-stricken Gaza Strip. Ambassador Sufyan Qudah, the ministry’s spokesperson, announced this development on Monday, detailing the ongoing efforts to bring Jordanian citizens back home safely.

According to Jordan News Agency, the evacuation is being facilitated through the Jordanian embassy in Cairo. A total of 69 Jordanians in Gaza has been allowed to leave the area through the Rafah crossing into Egypt. The embassy staff in Egypt is on hand to receive these evacuees at the Egyptian side of the crossing.

The Foreign Ministry’s team is providing medical assistance to the evacuees and working on repatriating them to Jordan as quickly as possible. Qudah highlighted that the number of Jordanian citizens residing in, or currently present in, Gaza and registered with the Ministry has reached 640.

The spokesperson emphasized that the evacuation process for Jordanians in Gaza is ongoing. He urged any Jordanians still in Gaza and in need of assistance to contact the Operations Centre Unit of the Ministry. The unit is available around the clock and can be reached through several phone numbers and via email.
