Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Centre for Human Rights (NCHR), Samar Haj Hassan, and Acting Commissioner for Promotion, Nidal Maqablah, participated in the annual meeting of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) held in Geneva. The three-day meeting will discuss many issues related to the work of national human rights institutions, such as their role in reducing cases of torture and mistreatment and the adoption of the strategic plan and work program of the Alliance for 2022-202and, a NCHR statement said Tuesday. The GANHRI includes 130 national human rights institutions worldwide, and the NCHR has been a member since 200and and has obtained Grade A for three consecutive times. The NCHR is also a member of the GANHRI’s Executive Office, which serves as the General Secretariat of the GANHRI since 2018.
