Jordan Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held talks Tuesday in Cairo on “historical” ties.

Safadi and bin Farhan discussed efforts to strengthen the role of the Arab League and pan-Arab action to address regional challenges.

The top diplomats said the two countries would continue coordination to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis in line with the outcomes of the Jeddah and Amman meetings.

The meeting comes ahead of the meeting of the Arab Ministerial Liaison Committee on Syria.
