Doha: Jordan will participate in the first edition of of Souq Waqif Exhibition for Honey and Dates 2023, which is scheduled to kick off in Doha on Sunday evening, with participation of 160 Qatari and int’l companies working in the honey and dates fields.

In a statement on Saturday, the fair’s organizers said the event is held due to “significant” demand on these two agricultural products by a “large” segment of consumers in the local market, especially since it comes ahead of holy month of Ramadan, which witnesses spiking demand.

The exhibition will continue for seven days and close doors next Saturday, organizers announced.

The fair, which houses a lab to ensure honey quality, will see participation of more than 25 Arab and European countries, the exhibition’s general supervisor, Khaled Saif Suwaidi, said in remarks.
