Jordan Valley Assault Leaves Palestinian Injured, Cattle Stolen

Yirza, Jordan Valley — A Palestinian man, Jihad Saleh Masaied, was hospitalized after sustaining injuries during an attack by Israeli settlers in the northern Jordan Valley village of Yirza, northeast of the West Bank today.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA, their emergency medical teams were dispatched to the scene to treat Masaied after he was attacked by the settlers. Following on-site care, he was transported to a local hospital for further medical attention.

Mukhlis Masaied, head of the Yirza village council, reported that a group of over 20 armed settlers stormed the village. This incursion led to a raid on several homes and resulted in threats and acts of intimidation against residents, with some experiencing physical violence, necessitating hospital treatment for Masaied.

The assault by the settlers also resulted in substantial property loss for the village, with around 70 cattle reported stolen. Mukhlis Masaied detailed that the attack persisted for more than two hours, raising alarms over the security of Palestinian residents in the area, given the duration and nature of the settlers’ actions.
