AMMAN – In a significant move towards regulatory reform, the Jordanian Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Khasawneh, approved several new bylaws in its latest session held on Sunday.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Cabinet ratified the Licensing Private and Foreign Educational Institutions Bylaw for 2023. This new system is designed to simplify the licensing procedures for private and foreign educational institutions, aligning with the Economic Modernization Vision (EMV). The bylaw aims to regulate the operations of these institutions by clearly defining their obligations, rights, and the applicable fees, and includes provisions for organizing and supervising services for people with disabilities. Additionally, the Council of Ministers approved the Administrative Organization Bylaw for the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation (JRTV) for 2023. This bylaw is intended to delineate the tasks and responsibilities of JRTV’s administrative units, eliminate overlaps, and reorganize work in accordance with the latest developmental requirements, thereby enhancing workflow and performance efficiency. The Cabinet also amended the Administrative Organization Bylaw of the Jordan News Agency (Pe

tra) for 2023, with the objective of adapting to the evolving landscape of digital and social media. This amendment is expected to optimize human resources, redistribute staff among organizational units, and unify activities of a similar nature. Furthermore, the Council approved an amendment to the Customs Services Fees Bylaw on imported goods for 2023. This amendment aims to support national industries by reducing the tariff on raw materials for nuts from 5% to 3% of their value, thereby facilitating the import of affordable and competitive ready-made materials from abroad.
