Amman – Minister of Public Works and Housing, Maher Abul Samen, conducted a field inspection of the Amman-Zarqa Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project, which is approximately 93% complete.

According to Jordan News Agency, Abul Samen emphasized the need to finish the main construction of the project before the end of 2023 to initiate trial operations by integrating services with the BRT infrastructure in Amman. He instructed the ministry’s administrations to closely monitor daily progress and swiftly address any operational challenges, aiming for timely completion.

The minister underscored the project’s significance in enhancing Jordan’s public transportation system and its expected positive impact on citizen services. The project, with an investment of about JD140 million funded by the Social Security Investment Fund (SSIF), spans 20 km and is divided into four phases. It represents a new paradigm in transportation, connecting Jordanian cities, with plans for similar projects in the future.
