Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) said its field teams visited more than 1,150 economic establishments and checked about 2,300 product items during 420 inspection tours across the Kingdom during Ramadan and the Eid al-Fitr holiday. In a statement on Thursday, JSMO noted its monitoring efforts focused on inspecting pre-packaged items, garment and footwear products, child toys, household appliances, cosmetics, electrical wires, and other products that receive “high” demand locally, as well as fuel stations and and gas cylinder agencies. During that period, the JSMO received 70 complaints and issued 76 violation tickets for various facilities. Multiple products that violated Jordanian standards and technical rules were destroyed, and legal measures were taken against violators, in accordance with Standards and Metrology Law No. (22) of 2000 and its amendments, the statement added.
