Key Ministerial meetings kick off at COP27 with Syrian participation

Cairo, SANA- A High-Level meeting, mostly attended by Ministers kicked off Monday during UN Climate Change Conference in the Egyptian resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh, with a participation of a Syrian delegation led by Local Administration and Environment Minister Hussein Makhlouf.

Minister Makhlouf participates in the first ministerial round table on pre-2030 ambition and the Fifth Ministerial Meeting to hold a dialogue on “Long-Term Climate Finance to better track climate finance flowing into developing countries,

In addition to that, Makhlouf will be holding talks  on the sidelines of the conference to discuss issues of mutual interest with Arab counterparts.

The Syrian delegation has taken part right from the beginning in the talks opened on November 6th with the adoption of the provisional agendas of the COP, the CMP (the Conference of Parties to the Kyoto Protocol) and the CMA (the Conference of Parties to the Paris Agreement).

The 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference takes place from 6th till 18th November.
