The Kuwait-based Alnajat Charity launched Friday from Yemen a campaign to distribute one million iftar (fast-breaking) meals to needy people in 26 countries.

On this occasion, head of the resources and campaigns department at Alnajat Charity Omar Al-Shaqra told KUNA that the campaign is meant to offer aid and bring smiles to faces of needy people.

It comes in light of the rising hungry, malnutrition, unemployment and poverty in many countries, he said.

Al-Shaqra added that the campaign is launched from Yemen due to the difficult humanitarian conditions there, particularly among the displaced people.
