Baghdad, The legal expert, Counselor Salem Hawas Al-Saadi, confirmed: “returning back to the Saint Lego Law provides a great service to the large entities and parties, after they were disappointed with the adoption of the multiple constituencies, which served the small blocs and the independents now.”

Hawass said in a press statement: “The past elections, when one constituency was divided into multiple constituencies within one governorate, gave way to the rise of new faces, and this inevitably constitutes a clear threat to entities and parties whose voices are dispersed in the multiple constituencies,” warning: “The adoption of Saint- Lego makes the country’s political course threatened by uprisings and demonstrations.

He added: “Staying on the current law opens the door wide for new political figures and blocs to prove their existence after the matter was confined to blocs and figures belonging to this or that party.”

He described this as a failure for the blocs that are trying to restore and recycle the previous electoral system (Saint- Lego) through the single constituency, in order to return to control and deny independents the right to rise, participate in political action, and prove their existence.
