Manga Productions Signs MoU with Animoca Brands to Develop Web3 Projects in Arab Region

Jeddah, Manga Production Company, a subsidy of the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation “MiSK,” has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Animoca Brands, which develops digital property rights for games and open Metaverses.

This cooperation aims at a partnership that extends to a wide range of economic initiatives to facilitate mutual access to intellectual property, as well as activating Manga characters and projects for production in line with the modern structure of the third generation of the web, which contributes to the growth of locally emerging technologies markets such as “blockchain” technology.

The CEO of Manga Productions, Dr. Essam Bukhari, said that the partnership with Animoca Brands aims to move the content of Manga Productions beyond the current applications and experiences and focus on benefiting from the content archive of the Manga Production Company that guarantees high-quality characters. He emphasized that this partnership will lead to the development of the creative content industry in the region through expansion in areas and applications such as the Web3, which will be reflected in the expansion of the company’s vision and business in creative content by entering into new projects via the Internet or on the ground.

Yat Siu, the co-founder and chair of Animoca, praised cooperation with Manga Production Company, calling it one of the fastest growing Web3 systems, as well as expansion in the Middle East. He explained that Animoca Brands has started its first discussions with Saudi universities to develop introductory courses on blockchain, in addition to harnessing its operational and development resources to provide educational and professional opportunities for Saudi talents in related fields.

This partnership represents the first step for Manga Productions to adopt blockchain technology in its productions and to enhance its economic and cultural initiatives in creative content in the digital world.
