“Masana” prosthetic limbs center for children inaugurated in Damascus

The representation of the Russian Church in Damascus, the Church of Saint Ignatius of Antioch, inaugurated on Sunday “Masana” prosthetic limbs center for children in the church complex.

Russian Ambassador in Damascus Alexander Efimov stressed that the opening of the center is evidence of the level of deeply -rooted, fraternal, strategic and serious relations between the two countries, saying “children have the priority in our lives, and we must pay special attention to children who were injured in the unjust war on Syria.”.


“We thank President Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian people and government for their full support to the special military operation in Ukraine, and this is an evidence that we walk on the right road and we will triumph,” the Russian Ambassador added.

For his part, Archbishop Hilarion, head of the Department of Foreign Relations at the Russian Orthodox Church, said “Several years ago, we began implementing the program for the recovering of Syrian children injured in landmine and bomb blast during the war on Syria,”.

In turn, Minister of Religious Endowments, Mohammad Abdelsattar al-Sayyed , described the Syrian-Russian relations as deeply-rooted , praising the humanitarian works of the Orthodox Church in Syria and the importance of this distinguished medical work.
