International Cooperation Minister Rania El Mashat reviewed efforts made by the government in cooperation with the UN to establish the 2023-2027 strategic framework of partnership for sustainable development.

Mashat’s comments came during her participation on Monday18/7/2022 in a discussion panel that was held on the sidelines of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) in New York.

She added the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals are the common denominator in strategies prepared with bilateral and multilateral development partners, with a view to achieving a resilient and inclusive recovery and supporting the government’s efforts to bring about development.

She asserted the importance of advancing multilateral cooperation to provide financing necessary for attaining development, especially in light of rising food and energy prices.

In this regard, Mashat explained that the State adopts an approach that is based on the involvement of the public and private sectors, civil society and development partners, with the aim of overcoming the challenges facing development.

She noted that the strategic framework of partnership for sustainable development targets five goals to be fufilled by the end of 2027.

The minister stated that those objectives include strengthening human capital, fostering overall and sustainable economic development, integrating the informal economy, enhancing resilience to climate change and the efficient management of natural resources in a sustainable environment, as well as promoting the empowerment of women and girls.
