Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El Saeed revealed that up to EGP 13.3 billion had been allocated to public investments in Marsa Matrouh Governorate during the FY2022/2023.
This sum will cover the implementation of as many as 217 different development projects in the governorate, Saeed pointed out in her ministry’s report about the main features of Marsa Matrouh citizen investment plan for the FY2022/2023, to raise public awareness of sustainable development priorities and their role in achieving Egypt Vision 2030.
Saeed said the housing sector comes first in the governorate public investment plan for the current fiscal year, receiving nearly EGP 1.1 billion for drinking water and sanitation projects.
The plan also includes 36 projects to provide educational services in the New Alamein City, social housing projects, and healthcare projects that seek to build and improve up to 14 hospitals in the governorates, the minister added.
As for the governorate’s public investment plan for the FY2021/2022, Saeed noted that EGP 5 billion had been allocated to investments in the power sector, EGP 2.7 to the housing sector, EGP 1.9 to the transport sector, EGP888 million to higher education and scientific research, 745.8 million to the healthcare sector, and EGP 2.1 billion to other sectors.
Saeed said all development plans adopted by the State target better quality of life, which cannot be achieved with effective community involvement.
