Minister: Gov’t moves forward with 2nd wave of structural reforms

Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat said Saturday 20/11/2021 the Egyptian government is moving forward with the second wave of structural reforms that aim to achieve several axes, including providing more opportunities for private sector participation in development.

Mashat made the remarks during a meeting with Ian Arthur Bremmer; the president and founder of Eurasia Group on the sidelines of Bloomberg New Economy Forum 2021.

The meeting mulled ways of cooperation with the Eurasia Group, which works to help investors and business decision-makers understand the risks surrounding investments, open up prospects for investment opportunities in emerging and developed foreign markets, as well as provide business management consultancy and investment partnerships.

Mashat reviewed the economic reform axes the state implemented over the past seven years, which were reflected in supporting efforts to achieve development in many fields and a boom in the state’s infrastructure, especially in the road, transport, renewable energy and water projects.

She pointed to the Egyptian private sector’s contribution to the implementation of national projects in the field of renewable energy.
