Minister: Sisi approves request to organize Olympic Games 2036

Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy announced the approval of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on a request to organize Olympic Games 2036.

 

This came during the reception of Sobhy to President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach and his accompanying delegation on Saturday in presence of President of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa Mustapha Berraf, President of International Handball Federation Hassan Moustafa and President of Egyptian Olympic Committee Hisham Abu Hatab, a statement of the Ministry of Youth and Sports said.

 

During the meeting, Sobhy said that the Egyptian state and the political leadership under President Sisi pay an unprecedented attention to the Egyptian sport.

 

Bach asserted that the Egyptian sports infrastructure gives an opportunity to Egypt to host Olympic Games 2036.
