Riyadh, The Justice Minister, Walid Al-Samaani, and Investment Minister, Khalid Al-Falih, have granted law practice licenses to three foreign law firms on the sidelines of the International Conference on Justice held in Riyadh under the theme “Facilitating Access to Justice Through Digital Innovation”. Legal thought leaders and experts from around the world participated in the conference to discuss judicial technologies.

The licensed firms are Herbert Smith Freehills LLP, Latham and Watkins LLP, and Clifford Chance LLP.

These licenses are the first granted to foreign law firms in the Kingdom after amendments to the Code of Law Practice regarding licensing regulations were approved by the Cabinet.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Justice had previously approved the implementing regulations for licensing foreign law firms.
