MP Ibrahim Mneimneh wrote today on the ‘X’ platform: ‘We regret the approach of begging in the name of the Lebanese, which was expressed by the Minister of Economy through requesting #Kuwait to build wheat silos in Lebanon with the stroke of a pen#…This statement expresses the mentality of the ruling authority in Lebanon, which wastes public money and thrives on begging for loans and gifts to evade financial and economic reforms…There is no doubt that this statement constituted an insult not only to Kuwait but also to the Lebanese and their state. It would have been better for His Excellency the Minister to work on a comprehensive economic vision, which in turn ensures the implementation of the required reforms by the International Monetary Fund and also secures a recovery of the national economy by restoring the confidence of the international community in the Lebanese state and attracting foreign investments, without the need to beg and plead for aid in the name of the Lebanese people!”
