Most Asian stock markets close in red

Almost all major Asian indices closed Thursday with declines, excluding Japan’s Nikkei and Asia Dow.

In Japan, gross domestic product rose 0.1% in the third quarter of the year, falling behind expectations.

China’s annual inflation rate climbed by 1%, while producer prices fell 1.4% last month, according to official figures.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, increased by 0.21% to 3,357.73 points as of 1050 GMT.

Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 gained 0.63% to close at 28,623.15 points.

The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, dropped 0.63% to 19,925.74 points.

China’s Shanghai Stock Exchange also fell 0.22% to close at 3,276.09.

The Singapore index dropped 0.9% to end the day at 59,806.28 points.

India’s Sensex benchmark decreased 0.38% to close at 3,214.51.
