Egypt’s Mufti Shawqi Allam has voiced readiness of the Dar al Iftaa to offer scientific and religious support for the Muslim people in Senegal.
During a meeting with the Senegalese ambassador in Cairo on Sunday, Allam said the Egyptian Dar al Iftaa is ready to offer training courses for the Senegalese imams to help combat extremist ideologies.
Allam further reviewed the role played by the Dar al Iftaa in issuing fatwas for Muslims concerning religious affairs.
The ambassador, meanwhile, praised efforts exerted by the Dar al Iftaa to combat extremism.
Senegal is looking forward to making use of the services offered by the Dar al Iftaa in training imams and combating extremism, he added.
