Nahyan Bin Mubarak Attends Italy’s National Day Celebration in Abu Dhabi

Abu dhabi: Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, attended Italy's National Day celebration hosted by the Embassy of the Italian Republic to the UAE at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental Abu Dhabi. The event highlighted the strength of Italy's strategic partnership and expanding relations with the UAE.

According to Emirates News Agency, the celebration was attended by Ali Abdullah Mohammed Al-Ahmad, Assistant Under-Secretary for Policy and Defence Communications at the UAE Ministry of Defence, along with senior Emirati officials, ambassadors, business leaders, and prominent members of the Italian community in the UAE. Guests were welcomed by Lorenzo Fanara, Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the UAE.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Fanara noted that Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was the first G7 and G20 leader to visit the UAE during a time of conflict, underscoring the strength of bilateral ties. He expressed gratitude to the UAE Armed Forces for their protection and to Italian companies that have supported the celebrations as sponsors. He expressed confidence in the countries emerging stronger together, encapsulating the spirit of this year's celebration motto.

The event welcomed over 1,000 guests and featured a performance by the Youth Orchestra and Choir, led by Maestro Aldo Dotto. Christian Caiazza, violinist of the UAE National Orchestra, was the featured soloist. The national anthems of both countries were performed by Sophie Fanara, symbolizing the unity between the nations.

The evening showcased the enduring appeal of 'Made in Italy' through a display of luxury, fashion, jewellery, automotive, design, food and beverage, and advanced technologies. Italian companies and professionals continue to influence the UAE's urban, cultural, and economic landscape.

The Burj Khalifa was illuminated with the Italian flag's colours to mark the occasion, symbolizing the strong bilateral friendship. The UAE remains Italy's largest trading partner in the Middle East, with expanding trade and investment in luxury goods, energy, infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, technology, healthcare, aerospace, and sustainable development. Italian companies operate extensively across the Emirates, while Emirati investment in Italy continues to grow, creating opportunities in hospitality, real estate, and technology.
