DUBAI: H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, welcomed Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Chairman of the University Leadership Council and Bunyan Initiative for the Capacity-Building of the Youth, at the Emirates Group’s headquarters.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak said that Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum is regarded as one of the most inspiring leaders in youth capacity-building globally, remarking on his success in developing important industries from a technical, economic and human capital standpoint, by enabling Emirati youth to employ their skillset and creativity, and allowing them to gain expertise in all fields related to aviation and its services.
This commendation came after Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak awarded the Bunyan Award for Pioneering Youth in Leadership to Amira Al Falasi, the Emirates Group’s Vice President for Learni
ng and Talent. Al Falasi received the award and a certificate of appreciation for her contributions to developing talent, supporting national capacity building, and for being an inspiring role model empowering young leaders in the UAE through her active social participation.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak said that the ‘Bunyan’ Award is one of the main initiatives under the University Leadership Council, which aims to empower and build youth capabilities. ‘I was honoured to launch the awards 10 years ago, which annually recognises the best talent in the UAE in vital fields such as technology, innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership. This program focuses on boosting the skills and expertise of Emirati youth, and enabling them to advance and excel in innovation and creativity,” he added.
Sheikh Nahyan stressed that supporting and qualifying the Emirati youth is the top priority of the President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as youth are the considered today’s builders and the leaders of the
future.
The Bunyan Award for Pioneering Youth in Leadership recognises young Emirati leaders who have demonstrated ability to boost skills and expertise, encouraging knowledge sharing at a national level, thereby contributing to the country’s knowledge-based economy and building a more sustainable future.
