ABU DHABI: Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence emphasised that the UAE’s wise leadership, represented by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen on making knowledge the driving force in all fields, considering it the foundation for all forms of development and progress.

Sheikh Nahyan said that in line with this approach and in implementation of the wise vision of our wise leadership, the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence is launching the third edition of the ‘Ishraqat Festival’, which is one of the most prominent transformative projects implemented by the Ministry, as it is a global knowledge festival in the field of tolerance and coexistence, and works to attract specialised content creators and experts in the fields of tolerance.

This year’s festival will feature thinkers and creators from over 14 Arab and foreign countries, with over 80 international participants.

Sheikh Nahyan made the remarks following his inspection of the preparat
ions of the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence to launch the Ishraqat Festival, which will be held under the slogan ‘Tolerance is Knowledge’ from 1st to 3rd May as part of the activities of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair at ADNEC.

Some 80 Emirati and international writers and intellectuals will participate in the festival’s activities and sessions, through 50 local and international programmes and sessions.

The festival’s sessions will continue in 5 international languages, with the participation of 14 countries in the various creative, educational, artistic and cognitive fields.
