Amman: The National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) Tuesday launched a specialized Capture the Flag (CTF) challenges training program.

The program, which was opened by head of the center Bassam Maharmeh at the Islamic Educational College Schools in Jbaiha, aims to prepare students for the CTF competition, which is likely to take place in mid-May, the NCSC said in a statement.

The program aims to enhance the center’s role in building capacities and raising skills for all segments of society, especifically students and youth, it said.

In cybersecurity, CTF competitions are exercises in which participants, either individually or as part of a team, are challenged to find and exploit vulnerabilities in a system to capture a “flag” or piece of information to score points.
