Amman: An agreement was signed on Tuesday between the FInstitute for Family Health, the King Hussein Foundation, and the National Council for Family Affairs, in collaboration with the Housewives and Tafila Women’s Charitable Associations. This agreement is focused on implementing accreditation and quality control standards in services provided to individuals affected by violence.

The core aim of this agreement is to develop centers of excellence within the targeted associations at a national level. These centers will adhere to stringent standards of accreditation and quality control, thereby serving as national models for handling violence cases in compliance with Jordan’s legislative frameworks.

This initiative is part of the “Improving Access to Comprehensive Services Related to Gender-Based Violence in Jordan” project. Funded by the European Union, the project is implemented by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, in partnership with the Institute for Family Health and the Nation
al Council for Family Affairs.

Signatories of the agreement include Ibrahim Akl, Director of the Family Health Care Institute, Muhammad Miqdadi, Secretary-General of the National Council for Family Affairs, Kawthar Khalafat, President of the Housewives Association, and Dr. Hanan Al-Khurisat, President of the Tafila Women’s Charitable Association.

Secretary-General of the National Council for Family Affairs Muhammad Miqdadi emphasized the Council’s role since 2014 in developing standards for accreditation and quality control for services aimed at violence cases.

These standards, endorsed by the Council of Ministers, are now a reference for national institutions, guiding their work in responding to violence cases and developing family protection policies.

The agreement outlines the framework for cooperation between the Council and the partner agencies, defining their respective roles and responsibilities. It aims to establish a national model that provides services in line with nationally approved quality c
ontrol standards.

Director of the Institute for Family Health Ibrahim Akl elaborated on the Institute’s expansion in Amman and other governorates, providing comprehensive and integrated services through its various centers and mobile clinics.

The institute has been recognized for its excellence and commitment to building centers of excellence for institutional performance in providing high-quality services for violence cases.

President of the Housewives Association Kawthar Khalafat highlighted the significance of this agreement, noting the National Council for Family Affairs’ efforts in developing service standards and the Institute’s role in offering comprehensive health care, including services for persons with disabilities.
