The following is a statement by the Consulate General of the Republic of Nepal in Lebanon: ‘With profound sadness, the Consulate General of the Republic of Nepal in Lebanon mourns the loss of Pte Subash Thapa, who served with distinction in the Nepalese battalion operating in Southern Lebanon under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). Pte Thapa was a symbol of dedication and bravery, fulfilling his duties with utmost integrity and leaving behind a legacy of honor and sacrifice that will be remembered.

During this difficult time, we extend our deepest sympathies to his family, his comrades in arms, and all those impacted by his passing. The departure of Pte Subash Thapa represents a significant loss not only to his immediate family but to the entire Nepalese community and to all who value selflessness and commitment to peace.

As we come together in grief over the loss of our comrade, we pledge to keep his memory alive in our hearts and to continue walking the path he has so inspiringly laid
out before us.’
