The Syrian national athletics team continues to make progress at the second West Asian Championship for young men and women (under 20 years old), which kicked off Sunday in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

In 5000 m race -walking competition, Ramia Shaaban won the gold medal, while Sidra Shehadeh won the silver medal in the same competition.

On Sunday, the Syrian player Aya Al-Rahiya won the gold medal in 400-meter hurdles, while the player Aya Asbar won the silver medal in the javelin throwing.

The Syrian team also gained two gold and silver medals through the players Saddam al-Nams and Youssef Albi in the 10th km walk race.
