Damascus, SANA- A holy mass was held on the occasion of the New Year’s Day at the Mariamite Cathedral in Bab Touma neighborhood in Damascus.
The mass was presided over by His Beatitude John X, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East of the Greek Orthodox Church.
“We pray that peace and political stability will prevail in Syria, which has bitterly experienced the war waged on it along with suffering from the unjust embargo imposed on its people,” his Beatitude said.
