President of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Ali Ahmed Al Derazi received the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict Pramila Patten.
Al Derazi highlighted the NIHR role n dealing with issues related to human rights, pointing to the institution’s full support for everything that would enhance women’s political, economic, social and cultural rights.
Women are full partners within the Bahraini society and work alongside men to achieve the principle of equality and non-discrimination.
Patten expressed appreciation of the institution’s role in protecting human rights as well as its endeavors to promote a human rights culture in Bahrain and women’s rights and empowerment .
