Ministerial council of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) held its 108th meeting on the level of envoys of oil and energy ministers of the member states in Kuwait under the chairmanship of Syria that heads the rotating session of 2022.

Secretary General of the Organization, Ali Sabt ben Sabt said in a statement that the meeting, which was headed by Syrian Assistant Minister of Petroleum and Mineral resources, Khaled al-Aleig, discussed a number of topics put on the agenda of the meeting, mainly a report about preparations that will be taken to hold the upcoming meeting of the 12th Arab Energy Conference due in Qatar in late 2023.

The council also discussed reports submitted by OAPEC general secretariat about the international petroleum situation, gas and the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and its impacts on the international oil markets.
